When the neck is forced forward or backwards this is typically called whiplash – this is not a medical term but a term most people are familiar with. Whiplash is a result of injury to the neck; the injury involves tendons, discs, nerves, ligaments, and muscles in the neck and sometimes as far reaching as the lower back. This condition can cause a patient severe headache, tingling in the arms, lumbar pains, reduced movement at the back of the neck. Sleep can be disrupted due to the pains throughout the body and a reduced libido as well.
